Powerpuff Girls Sittin' Pretty Playset

From left to right: Buttercup, Blossom, Bubbles

The city of Townsville...I was crazy about that town. It wasn't a huge town but they had all the creepiest and funniest villains imaginable! Luckily, Townsville had the Powerpuff Girls!

Originally known as the Whoopass Girls, the Powerpuff Girls were the kindergarten bug-eyed heroes that kept the complicated little town of Townsville safe, day and night. They were made of sugar, spice, everything nice and that secret formula called Chemical X that gave them their superpowers...That's a secret...

I was hooked on their cuteness. They reminded me of the big-eyed Japanese anime characters, which I have always loved. Having spent my childhood in Asia, I grew up religiously watching some epic Japanese anime versions of 'Peter Pan', 'A Little Princess' and 'The Sound of Music' to name a few. Interestingly, the Powerpuff Girls' creator, Craig McCraken, was actually inspired by the Margaret Keane artworks when he drew them.

Admittedly, I was in my teenage years when the Powerpuff Girls hit Cartoon Network...you know, the time when, I keep hearing, most people usually stop taking interest in childish things like toys. Not me though. I love toys. I just couldn't afford them. So I was super delighted when my dad brought back a Powerpuff Girls set from his visit to the homeland. It was apparently a gift from my aunt...She probably didn't remember how old I was but that's totally cool! I took the set and made out like a bandit!

My Powerpuff Girls set came with both stands and chairs as pictured. Their head molds and chairs are stamped with TM & ©2000 Cartoon Network. I'm going to guesstimate that they were released that year or a year later. I may have received mine in 2002.

  1. Hello, respond when you can.

I used to have these toys as a child and I loved them! For nostaglia's sake, I am wondering how big they are but cannot find any info. Could you give me an estimate on how tall they are and whatnot?

    1. Hi there. Sorry for such a delayed response. I found this comment in my spam folder. To answer your question, they are roughly 4.5" in height and they each come with the stand and matching couch that you see in my photos.
